I find the claim that Sen. Alfond's Legislative Council vote "made headlines" or otherwise is generating great controversy dubious at best. One source given is a pro-marijuana blog (with an interest in spinning marijuana issues to match their views) and the other is a Russian-funded (according to its article here) news site where the only statement about any sort of controversy and Alfond is a statement from the leader of a pro-marijuana legalization group who only states that he was 'disheartened' and mentions no big controversy with Alfond. Maine newspapers and media have some reporting about the rejection of the bill in general, and mention his vote (such as here) but don't discuss any alleged 'controversy'- just the simple fact that he did not vote to consider an issue that his city voted to support. If we're going to keep this IMO I would suggest limiting the statement to the facts and having more local sources, or at least sources that have better evidence of an actual controversy (such as protests or political opponents seeking to challenge him next election). 331dot (talk) 01:27, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
