Continuity

[edit]

I'm not sure if the Junos have a formal lineage that says that the best male/female awards officially converted into the "artist of the year" award, but it feels like the Juno Award for Entertainer of the Year (1987-1996) the nearest equivalent to the current Artist of the Year (2003-present).

From 1970-99, the award was for male/female vocalists, not even artists. The Entertainer of the Year was for the best overall artist (including groups) which is what the current Artist of the Year is for.

If nothing else, I submit that the lead of this article should reference the fact that from 1987-1996, there was another award for Entertaining of the Year. TheHYPO (talk) 21:13, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
