What is Junior Walker's correct date of birth?

[edit]

The date of birth given on this pate may be incorrect - this site has it as 1942 rather than 1931: http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/obituary-junior-walker-1583586.html Aotearoa-azania (talk) 23:05, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Which LPs or CDs were live?

[edit]

I think the main article could be improved if the discography were edited so people could tell which of his records or cds were recorded "in concert" as opposed to the studio. Did his contract prohibit him from performing live at a concert? 198.177.25.10 (talk) 20:31, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Need coverage of the Memphis/Willie Mitchell connection

[edit]

There was a passage in "Soul Survivor", a book about Al Green and the early history of Hi Records, where it was recounted that a not-yet-famous pre-Motown iteration of this band interacted with and was heavily influenced by Willie Mitchell's band. I came here hoping to learn more about that. It would need an additional source or sources to be properly added, but it would be worthwhile and both of these groups of musicians played critical roles in the evolution of the funk, or swung 16th grooves that would soon dominate almost every genre of popular music from 1965 on.
