Junior Gonzalez (soccer) → Junior Gonzalez – per WP:TSC. KingSkyLord (talk | contribs) 23:21, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 01:01, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
- The target article redirects to another article, although with diacritics. What makes the soccer coach the primary topic over the politician? Danski454 (talk) 23:45, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related page moves. GiantSnowman 10:35, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose - keep the two articles (soccer player and politician) where they are, and turn Junior Gonzalez into a disambig. GiantSnowman 10:41, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
- I have made Junior Gonzalez into a disambiguation page, as you have suggested. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 04:40, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
- I have reverted this change, with no prejudice to the eventual outcome of this discussion. I would suggest that the soccer player is the primary topic, but perhaps that is only a result of current and recent news. The special character argument is a strong one for keeping Junior Gonzalez as a redirect to Junior González, but nothing says that Junior González can't also be renamed if necessary.
