Cyprus
Can someone make Cyprus purple on the map? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ariso Light (talk • contribs) 00:25, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
- Patience!! There's no immediate rush, you know. People do have a life beyond Wikipedia. The map will be changed once someone with the skills and tools for updating the map is able to do so. Wes Mouse ✒ 03:39, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
- No need to be rude! I am patient, I was only asking, it doesn't hurt to ask! I never said that people didn't have a life beyond Wikipedia! If your intention was to make me feel bad for no reason, then you succeeded! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ariso Light (talk • contribs) 12:19, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
- I wasn't being rude, nor were my intentions to make you feel bad. All I was merely pointing out is that Wikipedia doesn't have a deadline to get things done immediately. You will come across moments when a participation map hasn't been updated for hours or even days. Not all editors have the required skills or tools to update the map upon adding content regarding a country's participation. And you wouldn't be the first person to post a comment to tell people to update the map because it hasn't been done. If people has a bit of patients and waited for the map to update in its due course, rather than assume we are lazy and can't be bothered, would be a bit more appreciative. Thought that was pretty clear in my comment, to be fair. But nevertheless, as I have the skills and tools for map updating, I did the update shortly after I replied to your comment. Wes Mouse ✒ 14:24, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
- If people like you stopped blaming others for assuming things they never assumed as you did, it would be much better! If I had said: "can someone hurry up and make Cyprus purple already!" I would agree that I wasn't being patient. But I only asked if it was possible, I didn't ask for it to be done in a millisecond! I didn't say that there was a deadline. I am aware Cyprus is now purple. Just try next time not to cause a problem when answering something that wasn't bad in any way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ariso Light (talk • contribs) 06:12, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
- Please remain civil at all times and remember to assume good faith in what people say and do. There is nothing in my comments that point to me saying "it must be done in a millisecond". And I am aware you never pointed out about a deadline. That was me pointing out some Wikipedia tips that not everyone maybe aware of. All I said was this isn't the first time that someone has asked for a map to be updated within minutes of the article being updated. Also, this talk page isn't really the correct venue to make requests for map updates, as the map is stored at Wikimedia Commons, seeing as the map is used across multiple language Wikipediae. So the correct venue would be the file's talk page either here on English Wikipedia or at commons, for global rapid responses. Wes Mouse ✒ 13:31, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

Non-sourced countries
Do not add countries who is either debuting, withdrawing or returning without any source confirmed. Do someone know what happens if someone add any unsourced countries?
For some reason, Serbia and BIH are added on the page without any source, Also the article where it confirms Ukraine's participation was for some reason deleted from Eurovoix — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lerandomperson (talk • contribs) 12:05, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
Think you can already rule out norway
last year norway actually held a national final but not this year. the norwegian final is usually on the list of shows held in oslo spektrum long before but this year oslo spektrum does not show it. that means that no mgp junior will be held in oslo spektrum where it is always held.(at least since 2005 but wikipedia have no knowledge on the years before.) nrk is really losing interest as last year they aired it much later. 84.212.73.96 (talk) 01:01, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, but no we cannot rule them out, not without any reliable sources that are published online in order to verify this statement. We don't accept original research or original thought. Wes Mouse ✒ 11:50, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
NRK has ruled out, but there is still some hope, however. TV2 was not asked as of yet, so you can't rule Norway out yet --EuroFan98 (talk) 13:52, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
Romanian exclusion
Shouldn't the map mention Romania as already ruled out? Because they got excluded by EBU back in April. EuroFan98 (talk) 16:48, 05 May 2016 (CET)
UK not returning.
Can someone edit the map to show the UK as yellow since they are now confirmed to not be returning. AJR2 (talk) 12:41, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
There is still a possibility that the UK will participate with another broadcoaster, with the BBC, for example. This is the reason why the UK is still colored grey on the map. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.87.206.64 (talk) 12:47, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
OK, thank you for the reply. AJR2 (talk) 12:50, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
- Indeed, if a country has more than one broadcaster that has EBU membership, we cannot just change the colour on the map until all broadcasters have said "no to participation". So despite ITV saying no, we still need confirmation from BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, and the Welsh broadcaster, S4C. Wes Mouse ✒ 14:06, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
Deleting Finnish dèbut
Is there a source for the Finnish dèbut? Otherwise we'll need to delete it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.87.206.64 (talk) 14:29, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, it should be removed. However, someone keeps adding it back without a source. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 14:35, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

- Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. Sir Joseph (talk) 17:31, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
Georgia
The Eurovoix article which previously existed stating that Georgia has confirmed participation has been deleted, furthermore their Twitter account tweeted that they have not confirmed participation (https://twitter.com/Eurovoix/status/736855440651374592). Georgia needs to be removed as a participating country 09:34, 2 June 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moldova96 (talk • contribs)
- Twitter cannot be used as a source and the article still exists. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 10:11, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- If you click on the link the article no longer exists, it says "Page Not Found". Moldova96 (talk) 12:14, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- The way to view the article on Eurovoix is a bit weird, as clicking on the headline hyperlink takes you to a deleted (404) page. Yet when you click on "read more" it opens the article. It is probably just a technical glitch, so I wouldn't panic too much. Wes Mouse ✒ 12:17, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- The url for the link that doesn't work uses the date format as 2016/25/05, which probably explains why it has broken, as the new link has the date format in the url as 2016/05/25. Wes Mouse ✒ 12:21, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Jjj1238: Eurovoix have now removed the article, so it must be true that their original publication was in error. I'd say remove from the provisional list entirely. Even other JESC news sites only show 8 confirmed to date, with Georgia not on their lists. Wes Mouse ✒ 13:43, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

Poland considers return!
ESC+Plus has confirmed that Poland considers return to the Junior Eurovision! look here: http://www.esc-plus.com/junior-eurovision-poland-considers-return/ EuroFan98 (talk) 14:18, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
Armenia not purple
Armenia should be painted purple! EuroFan98 (talk) 09:55, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
Don't add non-reliable sources
Don't add blogs as sources. And don't ever add Australia as withdrawing, because they will participate if you like it or not! EuroFan98 (talk) 09:20, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- @EuroFan98: Please refrain from making forceful threats towards the community, in the way you have done above. Remember to always assume good faith in others, and to remain civil at all times, and avoid written attacks. Most people are well aware of the standard of practice in regards to citations and identifying reliable sources. And when in doubt, you may refer editors to Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Sources, which provides a list of useful sources that WikiProject Eurovision accepts as being reliable. Some blogs can be used as a source, for example WiWiBloggs, albeit has blog in the title, but isn't a blog in nature. So I would strongly urge that you strike through your statement, or at least write an apology in order to retract the statement. Thank you. Wes Mouse ✒ 13:08, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
Why do someone keep adding United Kingdom??
I don't like it when people keep adding the United Kingdom without sourcing it! Maybe it's the brits' fault that this happens? --EuroFan98 (talk) 20:50, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
- @EuroFan98: Again, stop attacking people. Saying its the "Brits fault" is unacceptable behaviour. You are showing strong signs of I don't like it which is disruptive, and can lead to blocking sanctions if continued. Consider this as your final warning on civility and conduct towards other editor. Wes Mouse ✒ 13:11, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
Australia!?
Why is Australia put as withdrawing, without any source and no way to edit it out? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ariso Light (talk • contribs) 12:53, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
- That'll be vandalism edits which is a common thing on Eurovision and Junior Eurovision articles, I'm afraid. Something which we have been working hard to prevent, but will never cure. Thankfully such vandalism does get reverted swiftly, although there will be some which slip through the net. If you do spot any, then you could always report the user(s) at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Wes Mouse ✒ 16:59, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
Montenegro?
Is Montenegro actually confirmed? The source I visit in the references says error 404. It may have been false? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ariso Light (talk • contribs) 12:47, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- The edit, thankfully, had already been reverted very swiftly, moments before your post here. But thank you for bringing it to editor's attention. Wes Mouse ✒ 13:08, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
Dates
Sorry to say this, but Russia's national final would be on August 16th, because they record it all the day before. EuroFan98 (talk) 18:08, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
- So instead of telling people here, you could have been bold and updated the article. Wes Mouse ✒ 19:41, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
Good faith?
Why do people keep adding Greece as returning without any source which states that they said yes? Someone should add Greece back to the "Other countries" section, as their ERT said no in the first place. EuroFan98 (talk) 19:03, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- @EuroFan98: may I ask a question? You do know how to edit articles, yes? You must do, as you are fully capable of editing talk pages and telling, actually no not telling, more like demanding others should be doing the work. Rather than wasting your own time posting in here that something needs to be done, why don't you get off your lazy ass per WP:BOLD and just do the edit and leave a politely written edit summary, not the nasty and vile ones I have seen you write in the past. You don't see me posting that "a new country hasn't got an article yet". I just get to it and write the new article. Sorry to rant like that, but it has been getting annoying for a while now. Work! Don't demand others to do it for you. Wes Mouse ✒ 19:44, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
