What does "AM" mean?
[edit]The first line read:
- June Salter AM (June 22, 1932 – September 15, 2001) was an Australian actress.
I don't know what AM means here, and it linked to AM (a disambiguation page). Therefore, I'm removing it. When someone knows what it refers to, please replace it with a link to the appropriate (unambiguous) page. –RHolton≡– 19:55, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
AM is an Australian Honours Award: it stands for Member of the Order of Australia. More information available on the internet.
Birthplace
[edit]We're saying she was born in Renmark, SA, yet our one and only source (IMdB) says Bexley, NSW. -- JackofOz (talk) 03:40, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
The Salter family lived in Bexley, NSW before moving to Brighton-le-Sands in the mid-1930s [see NSW, Australia electoral rolls]. I learnt elocution from the same teacher as June: we appeared in the same end-of-year elocution concerts, and attended the same school-where June often performed for us during assemblies and concerts. Her talent was recognized very early. I have been unable to find the elocution teacher on the electoral rolls: I know her name phonetically; it may have been a given name.Whipstick (talk) 23:57, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
