Gender
Someone has listed Matsumoto Jun's gender as female and the article constantly refers to him as 'her' and 'she'. Could someone change this please? Tiwaking (talk) 21:22, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Best friends?
Someone removed band members from the list of best friends with the comment "Not really necessary, it's obvious he'd be good friends with his bandmembers". I'd just like to point out that band members aren't always friends, music history is littered with bands who broke up because the members ended up hating each other (eg The Police, Tears for Fears, Hüsker Dü. I'm not saying that's true here (I know nothing about this subject, I'm here following up a vandal's contribs and got distracted as usual), I'm just saying band members aren't necessarily friends. Totnesmartin 11:48, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Anyone who knows Arashi knows they're all pretty good friends. I don't see the need in listing everyone from the band in his best friends. It's bad enough most of the article, and most of the content in all articles about Johnny's members and groups, is unsourced, we don't need to bloat the page with trivia. Nique talk 16:15, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- oh well if they're known to be friends then there's no problem. Totnesmartin 16:22, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Many people do not know Arashi, so everyone certainly does not know them to be friends. It needs to be stated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.65.136.178 (talk) 12:21, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Matu.jpg
Image:Matu.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Please delete Jun matsumoto Music career
Suzu2309 is writing something that is not written on the Japanese Wikipedia Jun Matsumoto page. Please delete Jun matsumoto Music career. Japanese Wikipedia has not Music career. Please don't write anything that's not on Wikipedia. 2001:4430:C005:7FDD:71C1:68D8:F0B9:30D7 06:27, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- Regarding, the Japanese Wikipedia page, the page covers a wide range of aspects in Matsumoto's career, from acting, music, to TV appearances. Also, I do not dare commenting too much about comparing between the different languages/versions of the same article. Suzu2309 08:02, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Jun Matsumoto's Japanese Wikipedia does not include music career
Jun Matsumoto's Japanese Wikipedia does not include music career. It says on Japanese Wikipedia that it's a Japanese talent, actor, singer, and host.
2001:4430:C087:D23D:8D90:1CE1:471E:1732 08:20, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- Please avoid creating new section. Also, the Japanese Wikipedia page states "日本の男性タレント、俳優、歌手、司会者であり、男性アイドルグループ・嵐のメンバー" which would translate to "Japanese male talent, actor, singer, talk show host, and is a member of the male idol group - Arashi" (self's translation), which should pretty much be the same as whatever is stated on the English version. Suzu2309 08:33, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Please change to Japanese talent, actor, singer, and host. And please delete the music career. 2001:4430:C080:7F3:6585:2216:4507:C475 08:55, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry but you have not provided enough proper justification on why the music career section should be deleted. Suzu2309 10:18, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
jun Matsumoto Japanese Wikipedia page profile says this. Occupation (actor, singer, talent) Also, Genre (TV drama, movie, commercial, radio, stage) 2001:4430:C07D:6F22:1AE:48C9:1B42:7BD7 09:11, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- Regarding comparison with the Japanese Wikipedia page, I have previously stated that it may be quite risky to base it solely on a different language/version of the same Wikipedia page. Additionally, the English version lists the following for the occupation: "Singer, actor, radio, host, dancer, model" which is not that different from both the Japanese's occupation and genre section combined. Suzu2309 10:23, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- What the Japanese Wikipedia page says is irrelevant. First off, see WP:USERG. All Wikipedia projects are unreliable as sources and not suitable to decide anything here. Second off, Suzu has already told you that the Japanese article does mention his singing and musical career. IP, your edits here are extremely disruptive and further blocks may be required if you don't stop. -- ferret (talk) 12:36, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
The Japanese Wikipedia page, Korean Wikipedia page, Chinese Wikipedia page jun Matsumoto is described as the Talent, Actor, Singer, Host. And jun Matsumoto is written as a Japanese actor. It's only written on the English Wikipedia page. I wonder why jun Matsumoto music career is written only on the English Wikipedia page. Why create content that doesn't exist at all?
2001:4430:C005:90B3:F42F:30BF:6625:DDBE 18:43, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- Maybe we're dealing with a language barrier issue here. Do you understand that being a "singer" is considered a "musical career" in English? -- ferret (talk) 19:05, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
When I first came here, the English Wikipedia also had Matsumoto's music career written in one very small line.Revision as of 23:55, 18 August 2021 It was originally not included.
What I'm saying is, there's something written that's not written anywhere, so people keep trying to erase it. It's not in any other Wikipedia, but it's written only english Wikipedia.
To be exact, the Asian recognizes him as an actor and no one recognizes him as a singer.
2001:4430:C083:752:6944:FF7C:5EF5:E632 19:21, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- You've repeatedly stated that the Asian Wikipedias list "singer" though. What they do though is ultimately irrelevant. Wikipedias don't have to be "in synch" and they often have different guidelines and policies, sometimes in ways that contradict. The fact is, he was a singer, he was a member of Arashi, he has assisted with concert direction. Whether he is continuing those roles is irrelevant, he DID do them. We don't remove those details because Arashi went on hiatus. These are all verifiable things backed by sources. It's time to drop the stick. -- ferret (talk) 19:47, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
When I first came here, the English Wikipedia also had Matsumoto's music career written in one very very small line.Revision as of 23:55, 18 August 2021 It was originally not included. - Let me make this abundantly clear then: So what? Articles are expanded with new details all the time. The new content is backed by sources, so it meets the English Wikipedia policy WP:V, a policy that jawiki often doesn't adhere to at all. Your edits here are extremely disruptive on enwiki, and it's time for you to move on. You may find better luck editing the topic at jawiki or kowiki. -- ferret (talk) 20:02, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
