Speedy Deletion

[edit]

The article was orginally created by someone else, I have since improved it so it has some content on it. -- Sk8er5000 (talk) 06:51, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge

[edit]

Where is the encyclopedic content for this article? At this stage, all that can be said about the subject is best said in the main article. If and when the subject acquires notability independent of her appearance on a game show, then perhaps a stand-alone article may be appropriate. Until that time, this article is best redirected to MasterChef Australia. -- Mattinbgn\talk 22:55, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's being expanded, give it time in the next week or so. Poh has got a bit on hers re Masterchef.--Mikecraig (talk) 23:00, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Mikecraig. Julie is clearly notable here, as theres quite a bit on Google News about her. Theres articles about both the winners of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, so that, I believe, sets a clear precedent. -- Sk8er5000 (talk) 00:56, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge While she did win MasterChef Australia it doesn't automatically make her notable for an encyclopaedia. Poh on the other hand is somewhat more notable then Julie but she may become notable in time but at the moment she's not notable for Wikipedia. Bidgee (talk) 02:05, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. The reason this article has relatively little content (compared to the far superior article on the less notable Poh Ling Yeow) is because well-meaning people keep redirecting the article every bloody day. There's an abundance of reliable sources about her specifically as opposed to the show, and there's no excuse for a merge. Rebecca (talk) 03:31, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - per Rebecca. The runner up has a better and sourced article despite being less notable than the winner. --Sb617 (talk · contribs) 03:37, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Family Company Website

[edit]

I had originally removed this link believing it to be too promotional for this article (especially for the infobox). If the company itself had an article it should go there, but I'm not so sure for Julie Goodwin's page, despite it being her family business... Jwoodger (talk) 06:25, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
