I wrote a substantial part of this article (and also provided the photo), but did not participate in the discussion on deletion. For the future, I would simply add the following:

(1) This article usually gets about 500 to 1,000 hits per month, and has surpassed 2,000 on occasion. For stats, please see: http://stats.grok.se/en/200908/Julia_DeMato

(2) While the main interest may well be historical (at this point), that's still a valid purpose. and Wikipedia can perform a valuable function as a chronicle of our times.

I see that this article is flagged for needing more citations/references. The problem here is that for someone like Julia, who is mostly of historical interest (so far), the news articles that would serve as references are mostly ephemeral and have disappeared from their various web sites, so that makes it difficult. Also, who wants to invest more time in an article that has twice been nominated for deletion? In a court of law (at least in the USA), you can't be tried twice for the same offense, but in the land of Wikipedia, the prosecutors can keep bringing the same case, if they don't like the verdict.

Update on the stats for this article. To date, in 2010, it has been averaging over 1,000 hits per month.
