Carnivore
[edit]Is there a reason the introductory paragraph ends with 'She is a carnivore'? It doesn't seem relevant at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.172.234.30 (talk) 19:44, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Dead link
[edit]The link at the bottom of the page to "Photos from Julia in the tree house" (ottermedia.com) wasn't working on March 3rd, 2007; if it isn't working a few days from now, it should be fixed or removed.
- It still isn't working. I removed it. Regards, Tbc2 14:37, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
There is an inconsistancy regarding when "Luna" was vandalized. The article on Julia Hill says it was attacked in 2000, the artle on "Luna" says 2001.
tax resistance
[edit]How about some info about her tax resistance over here (as well as on the TR page)?
131.123.89.2 (talk) 01:50, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Although she's listed as a 'tax resistor' it's an unsourced claim. Stephenjh (talk) 23:36, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Attacked
[edit]"The tree was later attacked with a chainsaw." Very funny. JBFrenchhorn (talk) 21:58, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Alma Mater
[edit]Does anyone know what college she attended?--The lorax (talk) 17:17, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
- Arkansas State University (ASU). I have not yet been able to find evidence that she graduated. David Spector 16:18, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
I used to work with her father Dale Hill at The Herald of Arkansas State University, back in 1996. I never met The Butterfly, though. The_Iconoclast (talk) 23:21, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
i did not graduate ASU as i had no interest nor need in a degree. i went only to get information i needed to start my own business-- which i eventually did-- as well as non-profits. (written by the actual julia butterfly hill.)
Photo not very representative?
[edit]This photo doesn't look anything like her. Compare with the photos at 2009 Harmony Festival, Brazilian Website, Treehugger Website, Julia Butterfly's Blog, Julia Butterfly's Website, and Julia Butterfly at YouTube. I suggest that the photo be replaced with any listed here except for the ones that were taken when she was 23 years old, since she is now about 35 years old. David Spector 16:04, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- That is a photo of her at the Harmony Festival in 2009. Does this photo look more like her?--The lorax (talk) 17:28, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Age of Luna
[edit]How old is Luna? This article says 1500 years, the article Luna (Redwood Tree) says 600-1000. 192.104.39.2 (talk) 21:01, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
Controversial and/or challenged info must be sourced to be included in Wikipedia
[edit]There has been a lot of info added recently to this article with citations given. Problem is some of what was supposedly sourced--specifically what I deleted--was blatant OR, not contained in the cited source at all. TV.com is an IMO dubious source, but the bigger problem is the placed info I deleted did not appear in that article. I propose others who care about this article cite-check other recent additions. 'Nother thing: The past tense of lie is LAY, not laid. If s.o. wants to include material in a WP article, it needs to be tied to a valid citable source. Paavo273 (talk) 08:33, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
