Checking against GA criteria
[edit]- It is reasonably well written.
- a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
I am little puzzled by the phrsing of Originally, the nickname belonged to music teacher Arvo Vainio, who had a big nose like a comic book character called Junnu. Later the name was given to another Vainio, Juha.. Were the two related, or is Vainio a common surname? Why did Juha acquire the nickname?DoneChanged the last sentence to Later the name was given to Juha because he had the same last name as the teacher. Hopefully that clarifies that the two were not related and that the last name was the reason for Juha acquiring the nickname. Jafeluv (talk) 23:08, 3 March 2011 (UTC)Done
The prose does not yet meet the criteria of "reasonably well written". I made a few minor copy-edits, but it could do with a comprehensive copy-edit. The WP:Guild of copyeditors may be able to help.Done- Left a request there. Jafeluv (talk) 23:15, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Olli Miettinen was nicknamed "the emperor of Fennia", and several different ceremonies were held in his honour. For example, he was crowned in 1958. The motto of the ceremony was "Work for the unemployed, booze for Miettinen". Is this really necessary?Done- Probably not; removed. Jafeluv (talk) 23:08, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
What are causeries? Needs explanation.Done- Changed to lighthearted column-like text. Is it clearer like that? Jafeluv (talk) 08:50, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- '
' It is said that he made the choice by rolling a die. What was the alternative?Done- The alternative was continuing his musical career full-time. I'll try to find a way to make it clear in the text. Jafeluv (talk) 08:50, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- Now clarified, I hope. Jafeluv (talk) 18:48, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
Shortly before quitting teaching, Vainio organized an excursion for the pupils. What was special about this? Why is it mentioned?Done- Added "to express his gratitude of the time he had had with them". The point of that sentence is to show that Vainio had enjoyed his time as a teacher, although he never returned to the profession. Jafeluv (talk) 08:50, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
