- I've had a very brief skim through the article and did a couple of very minor copy edits. I'll look forward to doing an in depth review over the next couple of days. SagaciousPhil - Chat 15:49, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks! This one has been a long time coming - I finally realised that I really should finish this article off before expanding either Treo (dog) or Antis (dog) from other book sources. Miyagawa (talk) 16:31, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
Some initial comments:
Lead
- Would it be possible to expand this? At around 120 words it feels a bit short for an article of about 2,860 words.
- Lead greatly expanded! :) Miyagawa (talk) 11:21, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
Info box
- I'm on pretty unsteady ground here but can I just get clarification about the use of the flag icon, please? WP:MOSFLAG says to avoid the use of flag icons in info boxes but it does seem to give an exception for some military articles - is that why it's included?
- It says Judy is from the UK yet she was born in China?
- I've dropped the nationality (and the flag) from the infobox. Miyagawa (talk) 10:55, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
Military career
- In the 3rd/4th sentence of the first paragraph:
"... sleep on, and trained which areas she could not enter. One of these were the areas inhabited by the Chinese cooks, who disliked her."
Could this be re-worded as it feels a bit clumsy to me, especially "trained which areas" and the repetition of 'areas' again in the next sentence.
- I've overhauled that bit and changed around the sentence before and after too. Miyagawa (talk) 10:55, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Do we know the sex of the ship's dog on the Ladybird? Or is s/he referred to as 'it' because this isn't known?
- It was male - rectified. Miyagawa (talk) 10:55, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
More later - it's a really enjoyable read and hopefully I'm not coming across as nit-picking! SagaciousPhil - Chat 08:46, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
Post war and awards
- At the end of the penultimate paragraph it reads
"... which included a plaque which told of her life story."
; could the repetition of 'which' be avoided?
- Changed the second instance to "that". Miyagawa (talk) 10:55, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
Those are all the queries I have. Images are fine - all PD, captioned and relevant to the article. Although it's not a GA requirement alt captions would be helpful; refs are appropriately used, reliable and in a consistent style; no sign of copy vio problems - I've read through all the online sources; comprehensive coverage in a neutral well written manner without any original research; and the article is stable.
Just the minor points I've raised above to have a look at, please. A truly fascinating and intriguing story - proving a dog can indeed be "a man's best friend". SagaciousPhil - Chat 10:20, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for addressing everything so quickly! I feel this is ready to pass. SagaciousPhil - Chat 12:26, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
