Commercial for manufacturers?
[edit]"Today, companies like Adidas and Mizuno also produce Judogis. Although these products are more expensive, quality is assured." Is this a commercial?
- I removed the second sentence. I don't think the first is really necessary... -- Ben 05:36, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Terrycloth?
[edit]All of the judo-style dogi I've ever seen, whether single-weave or double-weave, have used a fabric that looks like basketweave to me, at least on the outside face. It doesn't appear to be any sort of pile weave. — Gwalla | Talk 23:25, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Citation needed?
[edit]Second sentence: "Most likely Jigoro Kano derived the original judogi from the kimono and other Japanese garments around the turn of the 20th century." seems a bit weasel-wordy to me. It would be good to include a citation here - in fact, the whole first paragraph could use referencing. I don't have it to hand, but I seem to recall Dave Lowry's book In The Dojo contains a piece on the evolution of the judogi, which would probably serve - will try and dig it up when I have time. In the interim, have tagged for citation. Yunshui (talk) 11:35, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
