Can anyone verify the validity of this "Alleged Joy Buzzer Users" list?

The list is preposterous. If there are notable incidents of a celebrity using a Joy Buzzer, we could mention them in the article, but a list of "alleged users" is beyond the pale. Removed. JRM · Talk 12:09, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There should really be a page for shocking pens. Hbomberman (talk) 04:14, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lede suggestion.

I propose substituting;

>A joy buzzer (also called a hand buzzer) is a practical joke device that consists of a coiled spring inside a disc worn in the palm of the hand. When the wearer shakes hands with another person, a button on the disc releases the spring, which rapidly unwinds creating a vibration that feels somewhat like an electric shock to someone not expecting it.

For

>A joy buzzer (also called a hand buzzer) is a practical joke device that consists of a coiled spring inside a disc worn in the palm of the hand. When the wearer shakes hands with another person, a button on the disc releases the spring, which rapidly unwinds creating a vibration that causes the victim immense disappointment in the humour of the wearer of said device.

For accuracy, I mean. Admittedly I always thought the joke was on the purchaser of the device, and the joker was the salesman of said device. But hey. :P Agendabender (talk) 07:39, 26 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hand Buzzer, from 1913

[edit]

Here is a link to an old catalog from 1913 which featured "The Buzzer", on page 14. The company that published the book was only operated from 1913-1916. Before it had its name changed. https://archive.org/details/Novelties-Jokes-Tricks-Puzzles-Magic-From-All-Over-The-World-And-Every-Where-Else-1913-C.J.Felsman
