Intentional walk
[edit]The claim that Meekin "threw the first intentional walk in baseball history" in 1896 disagrees with our intentional base on balls article, which claims that Abner Dalrymple was the first hitter to be given an intentional walk with the bases loaded, back in 1881. Which is correct? Warofdreams talk 10:02, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
- Good question. I have never read any source which said that Dalrymple was the first, but I have seen several that said Jimmy Ryan was. In fact, even though the intentional base on balls article lists Dalrymple, the cited source in that sentence disagrees. I'll edit it accordingly. - PM800 (talk) 10:27, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
