Joshua Tree (1993 film) → Joshua Tree (film) — per WP:Naming conventions (films). There is no other article on Wikipedia about a film with this title, so disambiguation by year is unnecessary. (A short by Jonathan Messer exists but it is not notable enough to have an article.) — Station1 (talk) 08:16, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

- Oppose. Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages), the entry on the dab page does not require its own article. Station1 unilaterally moved the article to Joshua Tree (film) 2 days ago, during the current discussion re moving Joshua tree (disambiguation) to Joshua tree. I unilaterally moved it back. --Una Smith (talk) 08:27, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- One has nothing to do with the other. I agree that a bullet for the short film with a blue link to Jonathan Messer is appropriate for the dab page. But unless someone is going to write a separate article about the short, the title of this article does not need disambiguation by year. Station1 (talk) 08:47, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm. It took me a while to see it, but I think they are related. See below. --Born2cycle (talk) 23:55, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose The Messer film is apparently notable (BTW, imdb says it's a 2002, not 2005, film) and probably should have its own article in Wikipedia. That aside, even if Joshua Tree (2002 film) exists only as a redirect to the article about Messer (as it should) and referenced on the dab page, it exists and suggests any other film named Joshua Tree should be dabbed by year as well as "film". --Born2cycle (talk) 23:55, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose Since it seems that there have been two or more films named "Joshua Tree", neither of which seems to have been exceptionally well-known, then Joshua Tree (film) should be a disambiguation page (or, as in this case, should point to a disambiguation page. --Orlady (talk) 23:50, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Alternate title
[edit]- The movie was released in the United States, in 1994, and billed as Army of One (1994), so the year should be included as an alternate name as Army of One (1994 film) especially when there is now a new Army of One (2016 film). I don't know about England (didn't look) but in the US the movie is not known at all by "Joshua Tree".
