Should this be rewarded?
[edit]Instead of thanking the Academy she ungreatfully said that they had never coached her, a fact which is false and can be checked by reading any of the back issues of the Hindi newspaper online.'

- ... that Joshna Chinappa (pictured) was the first Indian squash player to become an Asian Champion? Source: [1]
- ALT1:... that Joshna Chinappa (pictured) was the first Indian to win the British Junior Open Squash title? Source: [2]
- ALT2:... that at the age of 14, Joshna Chinappa (pictured) became the youngest Indian national squash champion after winning both junior and senior national championship titles? Source: [3]
- Comment: If years need mention, they are - 2017 for original hook, 2005 for ALT1 and 2000 for ALT2. ALT image: commons:Joshana Chinappa at the 12th South Asian Games in 2016.jpg
5x expanded by Shanze1 (talk). Self-nominated at 05:17, 28 May 2020 (UTC).
- I've prepared another image for your consideration. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 23:50, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
- Article is long enough (9794 characters), has been 5x expanded according to DYKcheck, nominated in time (expansion started 23 May, nominated 28 May), and article is within policy. All sources refer to her my her first name Joshna, and so this appropriate for the article to do so (this is due to Indian surnames/patronymics)
- All hooks are short enough, interesting, in the article, and well cited. I prefer ALT0
- File:Joshna Chinappa (cropped).jpg is freely licenced (as is its original file), used in article and looks good at low resolution
- File:Joshana Chinappa at the 12th South Asian Games in 2016 (DYK crop).jpg is also freely licenced (as is its original file), used in article (albeit the uncropped version), and looks good at low resolution
- QPQ exempt, as the nominator has 3 previous DYK nominations
- Overall, this nomination passes, congratulations. Joseph2302 (talk) 16:02, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this to an image slot with the great image that The Squirrel Conspiracy uploaded. But these "first" hooks are pretty weak. Actually, I think the most interesting fact is her being the current record-holder of most national championship wins. I added a "citation needed" tag and noted a dead link in the last section. Yoninah (talk) 20:57, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- Added citations and here's an alt hook as suggested.
- ALT3:... that Joshna Chinappa (pictured) has won the Indian national squash championship for a record 18 times? Shanze1 (talk) 04:04, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking care of the cites. @Joseph2302: would you mind reviewing ALT3? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 18:46, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
