Goalkeeper
[edit]As stated on the user talk page of an ip user, goalkeeper should not be included in his infobox as he would not be considered to play there in a professional game. He only ever featured there as a youth player. See Tom Heaton for an example of another player who did the same thing. The ref added is unnecessary as it is both mentioned and referenced in the main article therefore I will remove it as it is not needed no matter if goalkeeper is included or not. Kosack (talk) 23:07, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- Another example is that of Petr Čech who also changed positions. Seeing as the article on Petr Čech is a B-class rated article then this one should therefore follow the guidelines set out by that one. So I will remove goalkeeper from his infobox. Kosack (talk) 23:19, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- Did Heaton/Cech appear on their profesional club team sheets as an outfield player like Magennis did as a goalkeeper? No, Magennis played in goal for Northern Ireland under 16's and 17's and was registered as a 2nd choice goalkeeper for his PROFESSIONAL club Cardiff in a matchday a squad.
- Northern Ireland U16's and 17's are not professional and he never made a professional appearance as a goalkeeper for Cardiff. Phil Jagielka regularly covered as Sheffield United's second goalkeeper but it is not included in his infobox. James Collins and Ian Pearce have both played as a striker but it is not included in their infoboxes either. Kosack (talk) 00:04, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
