This is pretty much a self-created promo article. Delete? 24.131.238.118 (talk) 19:54, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. This article smacks of shameless self-promotion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.253.185.225 (talk) 03:42, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This smacks of self promotion I think as well. I verified that he has in fact published a novel and written a screenplay, and produced one of his films. However, I think that an extensive filmography and bibliography is unwarranted. This is an encyclopedia, not an index of every single person and every single thing they have ever done. This person is known for their novel and the film based on it, and that's all that should be written per Wikipedia standards. Also, I don't think that Amazon reviews qualify one as a literary critic, unless someone can verify that it should be taken down. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PinkWonderboy (talkcontribs) 18:07, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As an addendum to that: yes it's verifiable that this person has "written a novel" (just as, in 2009, approximately 30,000 people "wrote a novel" for National Novel Writing Month--does that mean we need 30,000 more Wikipedia entries?) which is available for purchase on Amazon.com, but it might be worth mentioning that the publisher of the novel listed on Amazon does not have a Wikipedia entry, although they do have a website. Also, I was not aware than an unpublished PhD thesis could be listed under a "Nonfiction" heading as though it were an *actual* published work of nonfiction: checking the Wikipedia entries for Dr Martin Luther King Jr and Harold Bloom as two random people off the top of my head who wrote a PhD thesis, neither mentions the title of their PhD dissertation or lists it as though it were part of their bibliographies. This tries to misrepresent unpublished work as though it were something that was publicly available, or relevant for an encyclopedia article. Let me double down on "shameless self-promotion" combined with ludicrous resumé-padding. Delete delete delete. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.81.191.1 (talk) 08:37, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
