Status at birth?

The lead said that he was born free, but the article said that his mother was enslaved, that he was the 2nd of 7 children, and that she "and her children" were freed by her master when she was still young. This suggests that Roberts was freed by his father along with other members of his family.Parkwells (talk) 22:40, 5 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
