[edit]The original 25 April 2005 version of this article by 24.77.215.216 -- which constitutes the bulk of the current version -- is a somewhat credulous story form of Papp's life and looks like it might well have been copied directly from another publication. This concerns me. --Wfaxon 08:09, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
The Feynman incident
[edit]Please ask the contributors who developed your very detailed article on Richard Feynman to confirm or deny whether any of what's alleged on this page actually happened. OtherDaveB (talk) 07:42, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
This item is very poorly researched: the Feynman story is completely true. For example, the person who was killed was Jack Edward Hartman of Mattel Toys. See Gardena Valley News and Gardena Tribune, 21st November 1968.

Gentlemen
See www.rohnermotor.org to see videos, taken by my brothers and I of the Papp engine Running both in free style and into a Dyno. The motor was also Certified, by several scientist and passed all Patent testing. The engines my brother Bob Built with Papp were tested and produce a power rateing of 107 Hp across a RPM range, FLAT, from 80 to 2,200. So I think you calling it a hoax is about like you deciding Ice Cream does not exist. I have studied the engine and we NOW have science that actually supports how it works TODAY. Bob has started a company. as Have I, to commercialize this engine. We expect to have them in Vehicles and trucks, in Bob's Case Gensets, within 2 years. So If your buying stock in Algae fuel get ready to dump. Bob is using an older, original design, and it will probably run 800 hours between refuel. I am developing a more modern design that will extend both the horsepower, and time running to levels of 200+ and 2000 hours. Remember we are talking about 2 Cyl test motors. For trucks a 8 Cylinder 800 HP engine with 2000 hour (3 Months Continual) refuel cycles is expected and for cars that will be 4 Cylinder 400 Hp and 2400 hours refuel cycles. (100 days continual).. Bob may use the 2 cylinder as a home genset. So, to say it was a hoax is dead wrong. John Rohner. |

No, This should not be deleted. It could help other editors to expand the article. There was a mass market paperback written about the submarine for all intents and purposes does not exist anymore. I won't say if anything is a hoax or not because if it was a hoax this has to be one of the most elaborate single person created hoaxes there is. I submit that there might be a separate category of "unknown" or "undetermined". As an example, it is now understood that cavitation is a scientific based principle. And there are valid Soviet weapon systems i.e. torpedoes that are probably the same size as Papp's submarine. Maybe his submarine sort of worked, but not for the distances he claimed (or even the speed for that matter). I submit it's the same for the engine. It does run for a while, but it is unreliable. The inventor(s) might entirely be sincere (i.e. not purposefully trying to deceive), but do not understand the scientific principles they are working with!
