Is the info for this article pulled from the Spanish language wiki version? I ask because there seems to be some confusion about Torres' birthplace. An ESPN announcer stated he naturalized in Texas while this article states he was born there. I see people using this article as a source but it has no sources. Does not matter to me, just hoping someone can clear up the confusion.72.196.220.202 (talk) 20:25, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
-Birthplace-
I grew up with Jose playing with him since we could walk! He learned how to play in Longview Texas and started his legacy here playing the mid field or sweeper (once we got way ahead he played stopper too...). We played all across the state on club/select teams in Dallas, Jacksonville, ect (He was our team captian because of his great understanding of the game plus his ability to create greatness from just about any situation and when the game was close and the pressure was on, he would play even better, so thats the main reason why I know hes going to succeed in a big way for Team USA "when the pressure is on his game is on")...He moved to Mexico when he was in later high school to play professional (so im sure he learned a good amount there too). My opinion knowing Jose is that all he wants to do is to play soccer and make his friends, family, and fans pretentious when he steps onto the field for whatever team he is playing for. Jose Torres is a good person and player on and off the field with good morals, very humble, and keen focus that has always been centered around successful soccer and supporting his teamates with perfectly placed passes and getting the ball in and of tight spots all over the field including passed the keeper. So, all I can say is im happy hes playing for USA and I hope we as a nation will watch and cheer for Jose. God Bless
