The Jordache wiki page is a hoot! :-)

[edit]Jordache:
Why are you changing the major content? The prior user justified with source and citing. This is encyclopedic in association with the source.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.173.43.1 (talk • contribs) 19:29, 14 April 2007.
My edits were justified in the edit summaries I believe, but I'll expand here.
Celebrity sitings/politics - unverified, non-notable
I removed the celebrity sitings section because it is not encyclopedic. (See WP:NOT and WP:ENC.) No other clothing articles on popular clothing brands cite every celebrity who has worn their jeans. Where would we be if the Levi's article mentioned every actor/actress ever to wear Levi's? Furthermore, these celebrities are not notable for wearing Jordache jeans. If you had a reliable source (WP:RS) stating that a certain celebrity was known for wearing Jordache jeans (maybe starting a trend or something?) that would be appropriate.
None of these are verified by any source, as is required by wikipedia (WP:V and WP:OR). The only "reference" is pictures of Kirsten Davis wearing formal clothing, not Jordache jeans.
I am not also sure why anyone cares if one of the Jordache founders has been seen with a celebrity. Lots of rich people hang out with other rich people, but this is not anything whose significance warrants inclusion in an encyclopedia article. If you can establish the significance of these contacts by citing reliable sources, feel free to do that. Also not sure why it is significant that they hosted Netanyahu. If you can explain why this should be included, please do (citing sources).
unverified statements marked
These need citations (WP:OR, WP:V), so i marked them:
- Jordache was the originator of the designer denim phenomenon in the late 1970s.
- Jordache Enterprises also manufactures private label denim for well-known companies, including Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi's, and Abercrombie & Fitch, among others.
wp:npov violations/unverified statements throughout removed
These things are ad puffery unless you have a reliable third party source you can cite:
- the Jordache brand quickly became synonymous with sexiness.
- Jordache has become a powerful name in the world of fashion and beyond.
- has earned a distinguished reputation for quality and excellence.
- diversity has enabled Jordache Enterprises to grow inconspicuously beneath the public eye
manufacturing section: wp:copyvio and wp:rs violations
the manufacturing section is cut and pasted from the manufacturer's site, which is clearly a copyright violation. this CANNOT be included on wikipedia. also, the manufacturer's claims do not constitute a wp:rs for whether the company complies with environmental regs, etc. you would need to find a third-party source that says this.
formatting
this is a minor point, but you reverted my stylistic changes to make the article comply with wikipedia conventions.
final thoughts On my talk page you assert that the changes inserting this material are justified and cited. The edit summaries include no justification, and the text has next to no citations (as I have explained). Also you say that I am not a more reliable source. I do not assert that I am a reliable source. I am simply trying to remove statements of questionable veracity for which there is no reliable source at all. I'll leave your version up for now but if I don't get a response soon I'll revert back to mine. Calliopejen1 19:57, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
