Where on earth did he get the name Bobo? That doesn't sound Jewsih, it sounds clownish(sorry if you ever read this Jonah, but it's true).

Three-Tail

I know what you mean. Maybe the difference is because he's an orthodox Jew? PS: Thanks to whoever cleaned up the page.

I did a little bit of research, and most likely "Bobo" was originally French. In it's full form, it's "Bourbeau." Here's my source: http://simmons.b2b2c.ca/Names.htm

Parentage

[edit]

I noticed that the biographic details were lacking, if not erroneous. Jonah's father, Todd Hilliard aka Fez Whatley may be in "software", but he is most well known as a former stand up comic and radio DJ currently working on the Ron & Fez show. --71.247.208.15 23:16, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure this guy is his father? I couldn't find anything Mad Jack O'Lantern 05:40, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I wouldn't have edited it otherwise. Jonah and his mother appeared on his dad's show last week to help promote the DVD release of the film. In fact, the program has been used rather frequently to promote the film since before it hit theatres. A fact that puzzled me for quite some time. It wasn't until he was in studio last week that the cat was let out of the bag.

You should be more careful before characterizing something as "weird edits" --70.107.166.40 08:46, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

By weird edits I meant those strange changes to the filmography that someone else did... Mad Jack O'Lantern 18:08, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, my apologies then. :) --24.47.145.73 23:09, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I heard the radio show in question as well, and there was absolutely nothing on that show that "let the cat out of the bag". Jonah's father and the radio host in question are childhood friends. The radio host promoted "Zathura" and had Jonah in the studio for that very reason. You shouldn't jump to conclusions and spread rumors like this unless you have something more substantial to back them up.

And you are....?

[edit]

No conclusions needed to be "jumped" to, and if you did indeed hear the program, you'd know that. The fact you don't sign your comment (An IP at least) makes we wonder about your motivations for removing the information.

Now, if you happen to be his Dad, or someone close, and feel that connecting the dots publically is not in the interest of the family, I'd understand the deception, and would refrain from reverting the page to reinstate this fact. However, when it's made public on a internationally heard radio program, you can't say it's not already in the public domain.

If you are reverting it a fanboyish effort to support "Fez's" existence as real person over that of a character played by a very talented comedian, then it can be applauded, but has no place in an encyclopedia of facts.

As for me, I'm a fan of the program, and heard what I heard. I made sure I heard correctly before making the edit. I didn't even seek out his listing to do so. I was only looking for information about his career, and ran across this entry in a search engine. It was the comment that his father was "in software" that I found odd, and corrected. (Although he may indeed have investments in software too, it's not what he's best known for)--24.47.145.73 00:55, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I changed it back to software for now. I don't want to spread this information around if it isn't true, especially considering that it looks like the IMDB copied us now and put up something about his father being Hilliard. There are too many things that don't add up - like the different last names. Aside from that, this reliable article [1] explicitly says his father is in software. Mad Jack O'Lantern 01:19, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not going to revert it again right now until there's something else online to support it. The trouble of transcribing the interview or subsequent comments is too time consuming. Nor can I simply host or post a link to the audio as it's technically subscription only content. However, what's been admitted to on air is more than enough to substantiate the relationship, and those who seek out the audio will hear what I'm referring to. Incidentally, many, if not most, actors have stage names, and it's more than likely that's the case here. It's also notable that the name "Bobo" has been heard quite frequently on the program for years as part of an ongoing bit. A possible coincedence, although more it's likely an inside joke considering the relationship.

As for the article, Roberts may very well be stating the truth. His father could very well be in software. I'm just stating that is not what he is best known for. Roberts could be quoting from Jonah's bio which might gloss over father, or he could be covering the fact knowingly as a favor. Honestly, I don't know Robert's motivation. All I can comment on is what was stated on air.

Considering that this has now spread beyond this article to even the main Ron & Fez messageboard, I'll leave it be. Either someone else will substantiate it in another manner, or, if those close to Jonah prefer this not to be, it simply won't. I certainly wouldn't want to go against their wishes, but considering the refrences to Jonah's parentage continue on the Ron & Fez program (The guy is proud), I assume they have no problem with it. --24.47.145.73 04:05, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for conceding. It's kind of hard to decide what to do when two people show up with conflicting accounts of the same radio show. I hope it'll turn up somewhere soon if true. Mad Jack O'Lantern 04:33, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'm not really conceding. I'm simply going to leave it to someone else to substantiate in some other way, since the medium in which the claim is supported can't be presented within the confines of this discussion page. I'm sure this will be substantiated, I'm just not going to spend further time doing it unless it becomes more obvious. --24.47.145.73 19:01, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly was said that made you think he was Fez's son? I assume you're taking about the show from 21 April 2006. I recorded the show off my MyFi and listened to it again since it was a really funny show. Jonah referenced his father as if he wasn't in the room, and the whole premise of the show was that Fez would be babysitting Jonah after the show (which Ron joked that it was really creepy for him to spend time with a nine year old), Fez said he knew Jonah's father before he was born. The only thing that could point to Fez being his father is the fact that they both live on Roosevelt Island, NY, which is an unlikely place for a movie star and popular radio host to both live. --uberdog 16:52, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I listened to the show...

[edit]

You know, if I had to choose any of the humorous comments made in the program on that day to substantiate the character of Fez as a real person to counter the comments and allusions made indicated that he was Jonah's dad, those would be the ones. Good work picking those out.

I'm going to take a wild guess that you also believe that Fez had a girlfriend in Niagra Falls, Ontario Canada as well. :)

Now, for those who listen to the audio on that day, and I mean all of it, you'll hear what I'm speaking of, and it's rather touching.

So again, towing the Fez party line is applaudable, but this is the Wikipedia. Hell, I wouldn't call in and call him "Todd" you know. I've been a fan of the show since they started on WNEW and understand the show. It's just that he put this out there, and this article gave conflicting information about him. If it gave no information on his dad at all, I doubt I'd have even bothered. --24.47.145.73 19:01, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand the Fez Whatley is a character on a radio show, but your comments made it sound like they had introduced Jonah as Todd's son. Don't insult my intelligence and act like I think Batman is real. Even though Todd plays Fez on the radio, any article mentioning Jonah's father would probably say that he hosts a radio show. What was said on the show that made you be so confident that Todd was Jonah's father that you ran to Wikipedia to make sure it was on here? --uberdog 19:36, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"I understand the Fez Whatley is a character on a radio show, but your comments made it sound like they had introduced Jonah as Todd's son."

No, I specifically didn't say that, because that wouldn't be a direct quote. Listen to the show, and you will hear what I'm referring to. For him to make the statement you're looking for, he'd have to come entirely out of character which, even upon a heart attack, did not happen.

"Don't insult my intelligence and act like I think Batman is real."

Looking back,I would have replied in the same way. Your spoke as if the character was an actual person, whether you actually believe that or not.

"Even though Todd plays Fez on the radio, any article mentioning Jonah's father would probably say that he hosts a radio show."

I see precious little about his father at all, and made sure to look for some that would counter what was said on air before making any changes. Like I said before, if there was no information at all, I doubt I'd have changed anything. It was the information I saw that conflicted with what was said that I thought needed correction.

"What was said on the show that made you be so confident that Todd was Jonah's father that you ran to Wikipedia to make sure it was on here?"

Again, since you seemed to have missed it above, I didn't "run" here to add the information. I only ran across this page in searching for what else Jonah had been in. The "software" comment was what I found odd. The discussion between Ron and Fez, mostly at Ron Bennington's prodding, is full of references and allusions to Todd being his father. Since you listened to the show yourself, you should know exactly what I'm speaking of. The fact you don't even acknowledge this, has me wondering about your motives.

The only reasons I can think of for anyone to rebut what I've said, considering that I'm only relating what was said, is that Jonah's family prefer this not to be public, which I'd respect, or that people are just trying to support the character of Fez as a person.

I've no clue what the reason is, but it's really not worth my time to keep reverting the page. --24.47.145.73 01:11, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well you don't seem to have any proof to back this up, besides "listen to the show". I have listened already and the only thing that sticks out is Fez saying he went to school with Jonah's uncle, despite having also said he met Jonah's father through "their drinking." You can argue that this alludes to Todd being Jonah's father, but it's not proof. The only "prodding" I heard from Ron was the usual stuff making fun of Fez for being a fake radio host.--uberdog 20:42, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Source

[edit]

Does anyone have a reliable source for this IMDB bit: "Jonah is his middle name because he hates his first name."? Mad Jack 19:44, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering that myself. Seems totally nonsequiter, because it's not like there's a wealth of information available on the kid. -Jars

Can someone indicate their source for his appearance in Flushed away. Whilst I can see he attended the premiere, I do not see anywhere else supporting that he actually stars. --G!

There's a bunch of new entries on his filmography section and none of them are cited. Also, the parts about him sharing a birthday with Ricky Ullman and being friends with Mackenzie Eisen isn't very relevant. Perhaps a cleanup is in order? -Jars

I agree with Jars, a cleanup is in order. --G!

Jonah goes by his middle name as his screen name. His first name is kept private by his family's wishes. Many actors as kids go by their middle name. Even Dakota Fanning goes by her middle name as a stage name.- Abe

Jonah did not play SHOCKY in FLUSHED AWAY, nor is he going to be in the two future movies posted. Who did that? MiniMary12 04:12, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jonah attended the premiere of Flushed Away, probably because he's a fan of DreamWorks. Cast and crew members of the film attended the premiere, as well as DreamWorks fans. 173.75.246.207 (talk) 01:12, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Father

[edit]

From his bio on http://www.jonah-bobo.de.tt/, his father's name is Scott--Bill.matthews 02:04, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's not a really reliable source. They probably got that information from this page, actually.

That site list above actually got the information from my website for Jonah Bobo, http://www.kidsjellybean.com/jonahbobo I had the first fan site for Jonah Bobo, and has been up for quite a while. I got my information from interviews with Jonah Bobo online. Jonah and his best friend has been to my site several times, and I have talked to his friend's mom. She has not corrected this information that was on my site.- Abe

Flushed Away/Jump In?

[edit]

Where are these credits? They do not seem at ALL accurate, and I'm sure I would've heard about both of these movies from someone if he was really in them. MiniMary12 04:12, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I second this. The last paragraph in the biography section seems completely pointless. I'm taking it out. If anyone has issues with that, put it back, whatever.Gongolier —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.117.236.175 (talk) 10:16, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdate?

[edit]

I have seen two IP change the birthdate to the same one. The only source we have for his birthdate is IMBD which could be wrong. Anyone want to email him to confirm?--Canoe1967 (talk) 14:29, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing that out. I probably reverted at least one or two of the changes to his birthdate. IMDb is not a reliable source. Therefore, I have removed the birthdate from the article. If someone can find a reliably sourced date, fine. I did a cursory search and found nothing.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:47, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
