Not done Articles like [1] and [2] from December 2019 imply that 2019 is correct. There may be a typo in the reference you give. Nigej (talk) 09:10, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation of name?

[edit]

With his sudden fame due to winning the 2023 Masters, could someone add a note explaining how he pronounces his first name? English speakers who don't know he's Spanish would naturally pronounce it like the English nickname Jon, short for Jonathan, but in Spanish it seems like it would be "hon," except that he was born in Basque Country and in Basque "j" is pronounced like English "y" so one might expect it to be pronounced "yon." I can't find an authoritative source for which of these three might be correct. RCTodd (talk) 14:17, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've no idea of the Spanish pronunciation but in English it's pronounced the same as the normal John. To me (British English) Rahm rhymes with Arm, Calm and Farm. Nigej (talk) 14:47, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, so the best approximation for English speakers would be "yon" with a "y" sound, as one would expect for the Basque pronunciation. RCTodd (talk) 13:16, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
