Citations (and citation guidance) needed
[edit]The existing, unsourced quote in the paragraph about the Romeo and Juliet connection to "Join Me" didn't really match up with the rest of the paragraph, so I moved it to another paragraph and tagged it as "citation needed." I substituted a couple of quotes from an interview with Ville Valo (by Erin Broadley, from Modern Fix issue 37) [1] that are more closely related to that subject. One discusses the controversy over the song in relation to a suicide in Europe, which previously wasn't discussed in the article but which I believe is relevant to illustrate exactly why the song was controversial.
Someone who's more adept at citing sources than me: Are the quotes short enough to be fair use, and did I cite them correctly with the footnote/reference? Apologies if the answer is no.

- Replaced one of the Modern Fix quotes with one from Metal Hammer that both addresses the suicide controversy and ties in with the Romeo and Juliet reference. The article still needs sources for the "one of the weaker tracks" quote and the "Funny Song" information in the third paragraph. Helfaery 03:28, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Valo Did intend on comitting suicide when he was 17. If my memory serves me right there are two other versions of Join Me In Death which completely contradict this statement. If I remember correctly the original versions goes something like this "I've been so anxious for death, to escape your world, its none of your kind. My wrist have open wide for you. This night i am dying just to be with you. and there is no way now. no way we can lose so before life tears us apart let death kill(come to you)you. won't you Die tonight with me join me in death I want you to join me in death. I want you to join me in death. . (similar version) Cause your all i want and your all I have. so lets this be the end a world is a lonely place for usssss. wont you die tonight for love baby join me in death wont you die tonight for love. i want you to die with me. i want you to join me in death. This life aint worth living soo wont you join me in death.
If i remember correctly this was ville original lyrics and version of song. Also if i remember in a documentary that i saw on youtube.com is that ville dedicated that song towards the death of (Unknown person)Or dog. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.148.172.188 (talk) 11:05, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Dance Versions/Remixes
[edit]There seem to be quite a few remixes out there including Join Me (Club Mix)by Lightforce which appears on 'Transcendental' Euphoria - Mixed by Dave Pearce Released: November 2000 http://www.davepearce.co.uk/biography/discography/transcendentaleuphoria/ as well as a mix by Yvan & Dan Daniel. However I am not able to find official details for the later. I have added this section and also done some minor restructuring. The into was far to large and so has now been included in an 'overview' section, however I feel the different video versions should be discussed separately as with the 'suicide' part because that did recieve media attention. However this should be clearly cited rather than just added. For that reason I have no touched this as I do not have the sources at this time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gingerzilla (talk • contribs) 22:48, 18 September 2008 (UTC) --— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gingerzilla (talk • contribs) 22:19, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
