Lyman family
[edit]There is some information about Simeon Lyman that should be moved in to this article but it probably needs good citations and this quotation is unclear. Maybe track down a source for this that is confirmable? Like how do we access the Town of Johnson public record, or what does that mean? I'll see if I can find the book soemwhere.
“Simeon Lyman seems to have started the woolen factory industry, aside from the wool-carding, as we find from the Land Records that in 1816 Joseph Waterman deeded to Simeon Lyman a “ ‘Privilege of Water at the lower falls on the North Branch of the River Lamoille to be taken from the mill-dam or saw-mill flume sufficient to carry a Fulling mill, napping and shearing machine, and machinery for cutting Durwood, together with the buildings now erected for fulling and cloth-dressing.” History of Johnson, VT 1784-1904 Oread Literary Club Johnson, VT Published 1907 BURLINGTON FREE PRESS PRINTING CO. In 1829, Simeon Lyman deeded and sold the property to Andrew Dow & Harry Gloyd. - Town of Johnson Public Record.
