– Both these articles currently use disambiguators, while the proposed renamed pages without disambiguators are currently both redirects, and confusingly, both are redirects to this article, not one redirect to each article, as you might imagine. I think there's enough difference in the titles and in the subjects that a hatnote could be used to direct people looking for the other article, e.g. "For the song/sitcom, see..." or "Not to be confused with ..." (after all, an American comedy song and a Filipino sitcom are two very different things). The alternative is to make one of the current redirects a DAB page... but then which one? There's a good argument that there ought to be a DAB page for "John en Marsha" anyway, as there are articles for both the sitcom and the film John en Marsha Ngayon '91 which is based on the sitcom. - Richard3120 I agree. This article should be simply named: "John and Marsha". My inexperience lead to this utter confusion. My apologies. I was not experienced enough once I posted the article to the main space to get around the redirect page being named "John and Marsha" itself, etc. Thank you for noticing all this and rectifying it. There is enough difference between the two articles, in subject matter and language, to name them appropriately, set up a DAB page for "John en Marsha" (film / sitcom) and simply hatnote. But honestly, before creating this page, I had never heard of "John en Marsha" before. In short, I was hoping to do what you are attempting to; if only I had your knowledge. Thank you. - Just as a comment, "(sitcom)" is never a valid disambiguation. See WP:NCTV. --Gonnym (talk) 12:06, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
- Agreed... I suspect that article was created by a Filipino editor unaware of Wikipedia naming conventions. "Single" isn't the right disambiguation here either, hence the tangle of names and redirects that needs to be sorted out. Richard3120 (talk) 12:09, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
- Gonnym My fault entirely. I realize in retrospect that it should have read: "(TV series)". My initial goal was to create "John and Marsha" as a page all its own; but my inexperience to break the original redirect caused this mess that Richard3120 is now trying to sort out. Thanks, all.
