What is his connection to Indianapolis?

[edit]

The article says nothing about him living in or having any other connection to Indiana, yet he is buried in Indianapolis, in the most prominent cemetery in town. There must be something missing from his life story. You don't just get buried in some place where you have no connection. --rogerd (talk) 17:51, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Medal on Display

[edit]

John's medal is now on display at Hillman Library on Pitt campus. Would a photograph of the display be appropriate? Also, I have high-res macro images of the medal itself--outside of the case--available if that would also be deemed useful to this article. DBishop1984 16:07, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely. Those images would be great, not only for this article, but I think I'd like to put one of the display in the Hillman Library article as well. CrazyPaco (talk) 22:28, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Added. I'll get the display photographed here in a moment. DBishop1984 16:56, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
They're great. Thank you for adding them! CrazyPaco (talk) 02:32, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pitt Hall of Fame

[edit]

John Woodruff was inducted into the inaugural Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018. Should this be noted?

Korean War service

[edit]

Although Woodruff served in the Army during the Korean War era, there are no reliable sources found as of yet state that he was in a war zone during the war. More specifically, the sources do not establish defining role in the Korean War. Accordingly, "Category:United States army personnel of the Korean War" was removed until a defining role is established. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 13:13, 27 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
