I had this, with links to Wikipedia's entries for the TV series and the actor, and it was removed for being unsourced:

In a 1965 episode of the second television season of Danger Man titled, Parallel Lines Sometimes Meet, Patrick McGoohan playing secret agent John Drake uses the alias John West (as at 21:40) and at the end of the episode, a Russian secret agent says to Drake, "Is it not true that you were named after a famous English admiral?", to which he assents. Interestingly, Admiral John West's mother's maiden name was Drake.

Any thoughts? Perhaps the guy who removed this was referencing the last sentence, and didn't realize that the main article itself mentions West's mother's maiden name as Drake. Does this item need to have a link to the actual episode? This episode appears in full on YouTube. How *sourced* does a mention in pop culture have to be? Wouldn't it be good enough to identify the episode? I'm sure I've seen that on WP a hundred times. No? Bob Enyart, Denver KGOV radio host (talk) 03:27, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - The issue is that the item did not have to have a link to the actual episode; referencing it to You Tube would be fine and I am not sure why you did not do that. A huge amount of effort over many years went into getting all all Admirals of the Fleet up to "B class" and your actions had de facto reduced one of those articles to "C class". I have now inserted the reference for you. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 12:39, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That's so helpful Dormskirk. When I searched for British admirals, and found the Admiral of the Fleet article, it was so great to see what a professional job had been done, obviously as a labor of love. I contribute to WP infrequently enough that I tend to forget how it works each time I come back, so I searched around for a template but didn't find a good one. Thank you again! No problem. Thanks for your kind words. Dormskirk (talk) 21:24, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
