[edit]Hi
I am new to Wikipedia article editing.
I have been advised that
a) a conflict of interests has occurred b) this article is ready for a speedy deletion
That would be rather depressing after the time spent constructing the article.
Can anyone advise?
Cheers
Keith

As far as I can see, it hasn't been nominated for speedy deletion. All new articles are reviewed by an experienced editor before the tag that's on it is removed, unless the creator has created many acceptable articles. That isn't necessarily anything to worry about and isn't a judgement on the article. Re: the conflict of interests, perhaps you could respond to the suggestion that you may know/be involved with John Webster in some way? If it is nominated for speedy deletion, you could add {hangon} to the article, so it will be looked at very carefully before a decision is made. Thank you for taking the time to create an article on WP, and I hope you consider editing/creating many more. Boleyn2 (talk) 18:43, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
I noticed the speedy deletion at an early stage of constructing but then it seemed to disappear, so I'll move on from there. Having (now) read various Wikipedia guideline pages I'd just like to say that I work at CARE Fertility, but it's in no way an overblown promotion. ("Editors with COIs are strongly encouraged to declare their interests") I've never met John Webster, but from what I hear about him he's a very shy, unassuming man who has done great and pioneering work in the world of IVF. I simply aim to contribute to the information available on the Net about John. And what better place than Wikipedia! So.. how do I proceed from here? I'd like to add a few historic details to John's page (inventions / research papers / references etc) so I shall continue and rely on upon reviews and required change requests (in case of bias etc). Again, my first article so go steady! Cheers Keith CareFertility (talk) 23:17, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes, if you have more you can add, please do so. Boleyn2 (talk) 07:32, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
