Changes

[edit]

I made a number of changes to Walford's site because he was a soldier who played first class cricket. He was my grandfather. He earned an MBE serving in Waziristan in 1924. Frustratingly someone has removed all the changes. Do you know how I should proceed from here to correct the mistakes and fill in the detail of his life? Thanks Nicholas Lambert (talk) 10:21, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there @Nicholas Lambert:, firstly, I hope this is OK, I changed your message to give it a heading under its own section. Usually, we don't mess with talk page messages (from other editors) but I felt this might be an improvement?
Secondly, I removed some information recently as it was completely unreferenced. Is there anything you can provide, newspaper clippings for example, to support the edits?
See WP:RS for assistance. Knitsey (talk) 10:39, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
yes, I am new to editing and my first attempt to link Harold Larwood to his Wikipedia page failed. I gave the MBE date from the London Gazette. His birth is from his christening record. His will in 1919 was from Hanbury Mount, not his birth. Also, he saw himself as a soldier, not a cricketer which is not reflect in the existing text. I could go on. Shall I rebuild my text? 145.224.90.240 (talk) 12:31, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
