For what it's worth, if the baseball section is going to stay in here, and I think it should, can someone confirm that John Henry remained a minority owner of the Yankees while he was a part owner of the Marlins, and that the Yankees required that he sell his stake in that team when he put together the purchase of the Red Sox? John deserves a fuller and more flattering conclusion to "Early Years"
Although the first line of paragraph four states the fact accurately, I believe that John deserves a fuller and more flattering expression than that which we find there now. 68.183.87.84 19:57, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
- That "first line of paragraph four" that concluded John's "Early Years" two years ago read
- He began his career as a full time speculator in the commodities markets
- eventually obtaining his CTA registration in 1981,
- this would allow him to not only trade his own money but the money of others as well.

Recent marriage
Worth adding that he recently married a woman half his age (30 to his almost-60). http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2009/06/28/wedded_bliss_in_fenway_outfield/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thalia42 (talk • contribs) 04:16, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, I don't know. Maybe so. Maybe not.
- The Globe's Shanahan got it wrong in his reference to John's "first wife."
- .
- Besides, John may deserve to enjoy a bit of privacy, in the matter of his family,
- and a rush to compare John to William O. Douglas, may not really do him much justice.
Officeholder?
Henry is an owner, not an officeholder. There has to be a better infobox to use for his info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kermitmorningstar (talk • contribs) 20:29, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
