Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... John Berry is one of the conteporary most influential researchers in the field of psychology. His articles have been cited up to 3000 times, which makes the impact of his work extraordinary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zarathustra35 (talk • contribs)
- Firstly, Wikipedia's content is determined by previously published information rather than by the personal beliefs or experiences of its editors. Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it.
Secondly, I tried to find the claims of ″strong impact″, but alas could find neither those citations nor the claim. With all due respect to the Academic in question here, the answer to the query whether or not his impact on the field is strong, cannot be based on your word of mouth (or misguided good faith). The very reason I am feeling iffy about an AFD at this stage is precisely his academic merit. But neither of us can let our predilections run amok here. We need proof of his impact. Secondary sources are needed to establish the topic's notability and to avoid novel interpretations of primary sources. We need more than just our POVs.
Please see WP:Verifiability, WP:PRIMARY, WP:No amount of editing can overcome a lack of notability, WP:No original research. Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 09:33, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
Hey, sorry, I am new in wiki and still learning. I hope the article has improved now. --Zarathustra35 (talk) 09:56, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
