A better form for an article title would be John Seymour (c 1474-1536). It seems oddly Hibernian always to leave out "Sir" but often include "Saint" or always "Pope". --Wetman 09:21, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

'Oddly Hibernian'? That's fighting talk where I come from, Wetman. And your name doesn't indicate you'd be much use, if it came to fisticuffs. --OhNoPeedyPeebles (talk) 18:16, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Prominent Gentry

[edit]

He’s the son of a knight who’s father was never knighted, but his father was. The wives are common folk probably bringing a manor or money. That’s gentry? Lady Meg (talk) 09:49, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely. And he was the grandson of a peer. Johnbod (talk) 14:09, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Which St Maur, in France?

[edit]

What source proves this St Maur family came from "St. Maur-sur-Loire in Touraine" rather than one of the other options? 2600:4040:5AEF:B400:E502:E93A:9109:8D1 (talk) 20:09, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
