First F-word

[edit]

Isn't he the first actor to say "fuck" in a motion picture (MASH (film))? This should be noted. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hill of Beans (talkcontribs) 17:43, August 23, 2007 (UTC).

Yes, he is. I'm trying to think of a way to add it, without having to re-write the full article. 69.225.2.57 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 15:01, 17 January 2009 (UTC).[reply]

First Theatrical Appearances

[edit]

"He made his first theatrical appearances at Denison University". Only if you don't count high school theatrical appearances. PAR 05:47, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trek guest part

[edit]

it says he is one of only five guest roles to appear in more than one Trek film, with the others being David Marcus, Saavik, Sarek, and Fleet Admiral Cartwright. What about Captain Klaa? He was the captain of the Klingon ship in Star Trek 5, and he was also the translator in Star trek 6. I'll correct this.--Tiberius47 (talk) 11:53, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is this even relevant? Given the man's long career, why list a bunch of other actors for something as trivial as who had multiple guest roles in a film series? This is only of interest to hardcore Trekkies.73.162.142.30 (talk) 07:01, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There's also Rand and Chapel ... I agree that this list is trivial. I will remove. Jpers36 (talk) 23:39, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Both of his wives and his son

[edit]

How come the article doesn't mention his marriage to Susan Bay, who is now married to Leanord Nimoy? Neither does it mention the fact that he and Susan have a child together named Aaron, and the fact that he is now married to painter Harrison Houle. Should I add those facts myself? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.225.0.87 (talk) 14:23, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see that his marriages have already been noted, so I've added his son, whom I believe is the A&R for Atlantic Records. No confirmation on that, so I left that little bit out. (Though Aaron Bay-Schuck of Atlantic Records looks like the perfect 50/50 clone of John Schuck and Susan Bay.) Hyuyuyu (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 15:29, 17 January 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Yep! His son is the director of A&R for Atlantic. Don't know how that would fit in here, though :/69.239.23.66 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:07, 18 June 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Re Harrison Houle

[edit]

Rv reference to Schuck being married to Harrison Houle as unsourced. The citation indicated that they have been married since 1990, which is impossible as there was no same-sex marriage in the United States at that time. 68.175.107.186 (talk) 03:32, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't referring to Houle as his "wife" make it sound like Houle is female? Isn't "husband" the term for a male spouse, even when they are the spouse of a male? (Pardon this remark if there's some gender non-binary involved here; the language is vague on such issues.) 2601:545:8201:6290:D568:DEC8:F84:4B53 (talk) 03:46, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

M*A*S*H role relates to theme song

[edit]

Is it perhaps worth mentioning that it was his M*A*S*H character's desire to commit suicide (after a bout of impotence made him fear, apparently ironically, that he was a latent homosexual, a thought obviously too terrible to live with...) which precipitated the in-movie performance of the movie's theme "Suicide Is Painless"? 2601:545:8201:6290:D568:DEC8:F84:4B53 (talk) 03:56, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
