FE or sixth form college?
[edit]A minor point but is it a general FE or sixth form college (I was sure it was the latter) and suspect the intro m ight need to be amended? Anybody got chapter and verse on this, otherwise I'll go ahead and change itZagubov (talk) 14:40, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- According to the list ypou gave me Zagubov, this is a sixth form college. Bleaney (talk) 01:05, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
The former John Newnham was a sixth form college and as the John Ruskin college it continued in the same way. This is not the only erro in the intro - it states that it is on Forestdale, which is nonsense - Forestdale is the estate across the road and situated in the parish of Addington, thereby having an addree of Forestdale, Addington Croydon CR0, whereas the college is on Selsdon Park Road, South Croydon, CR2. When the college was originally built it was adjacent to the then new Monks Hill estate, Selson, South Croydon, CR2, and the location of the Forestdale estate was still undeveloped and covered in small-holdings.Moonraker55 (talk)Moonraker55 (talk) 17:54, 27 January 2013 (UTC) It would be better to describe it as a sixth form college of the London Borough of Croydon. Early years
[edit]Currently the article says "...as the John Ruskin Boys' Central School. Its location was Scarbrook Road, Croydon. Named after John Ruskin,..." I would add in here, because it is relevant, "who spent a great deal of his childhood living with his grandmother whose tavern occupied a site at the junction of High Street, Scarbrook Road and Surrey Street."Moonraker55 (talk) 18:00, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
