Mission to Scotland
[edit]Does anyone know if this is the same John Pickering mentioned in the November 1642 Ordinance for Assistance to Mr. Pickering negociating in Scotland? --Hybrid2712 (talk) 11:42, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- The ODNB in their article Pickering, John (bap. 1615, d. 1645), states "Pickering was employed in diplomatic work for parliament late in 1641, carrying messages to its committee in Scotland, and was back there between December 1642 and January 1643 acting as an agent for the English parliament and reporting back on events in the Scottish privy council." -- PBS (talk) 15:16, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
