The result of the move request was: no consensus. No appropriate title suggested and accepted by the participants here. This can be revisited if there is further information about this player. – robertsky (talk) 09:30, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
John Murphy (1900s footballer) → ? – John Murphy (footballer, born 1872) and John Murphy (footballer, born 1886) also played football in the 1900s, so this is a terrible disambiguator. However, I'm not sure what to rename it to. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:38, 20 December 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 22:10, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

- Comment - I agree a move is needed, but there are no alternatives, other than something clumsy like John Murphy (Bradford City player) or similar. GiantSnowman 22:05, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
- John Murphy (1900s outside right) may be an alternative. I don't really like disambiguating by position, but I see little alternative here. John Murphy (footballer, born 1886) also played for Bradford City, incidentally. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:29, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
- And both other Murrays you mentioned were also inside forwards... GiantSnowman 15:30, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
- Precisely! -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:20, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
- John Murphy (footballer, fl. 1903–1904)? GiantSnowman 16:24, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
- So were the other two, and others! -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:31, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
- He was the only one active for that small timespan though. GiantSnowman 16:47, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
- To be honest, under the current revision, I'm not sure if this player is even notable with just one appearance but that can be discussed separately, perhaps after this RM closure. I can't think of any other proper suggested titles to rename this pdab with the lack of information visible. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 17:42, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
- Even if we were to turn it into a redirect (for example, to List of Bradford City A.F.C. players (1–49 league appearances)), we need to make sure the page is correctly located. GiantSnowman 19:08, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

- Close and delete No point in a redirect, if anyone wants to look him up, you can have a name in a list article without any links. Wikipedia does easily find names in lists without the need for single article or redirects. Govvy (talk) 08:53, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
