Something's screwy. He joined the Irish Brigade when he was around 20 (c. 1778) and quit when the brigade was disbanded on the execution of Louis XVI (1793). He returned to Ireland and got married in Ireland in 1789 (in another timeline?), then they emigrated to the United States in 1792 (in the second timeline).
