  • ... that John Moffet set an Olympic swimming record despite injuring himself during the same race? Source: [1] "With only 35 meters remaining, Moffet was leading when the adductor muscle tore. [...] Despite the searing pain, Moffet won the heat and set an Olympic record"

5x expanded by Canadian Paul (talk). Self-nominated at 21:34, 11 February 2021 (UTC).[reply]

  • DYKcheck does not recognize a 5x expansion, but I see that it was a copyright violation that got in the way, and that version is exempt from consideration. The baseline version had 458 B prose and the present version has 3967 B, so nearly 10x. The article appears to be well sourced, with inline citations throughout. NYT citation backs up the hook fact. It's interesting, but, what was the record? That seems like an important detail. I am ok with not saying so in the hook for the mystery, but it should be stated in the article. Add it to the article and you get the check. QPQ is complete and I had to check for copyvios on this version and it is clean (4.8%, "violation unlikely"). – Muboshgu (talk) 00:35, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
