tuba and double-bass
[edit]i deleted the line "(this was unusual, because few tuba players continued their role in the orchestra by switching to double-bass)" because it's nonsense. rather the opposite is true: most early jazz double-bass players began playing tuba and/or bass trombone, from old players born in late XIX century, like Ed Garland, Steve Brown, Pops Foster, Henry "Bass" Edwards and Bob Ysaguirre to later payers like Grachan Moncur II and Red Callender, to name just a few of the most famous ones. and Walter Page, of course. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theloni0us (talk • contribs) 11:49, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
