Research

I looked on FreeBMD for any records and found that his birth was registered in December quarter of 1920. His mother's maiden name was Thewlis and he appears to have a middle name beginning with C.

In 1943 a John C Harston married a Betty Barr in Barnsley.

A John C Harston died aged 77 in Barnsley in 1966, this might be his dad.
