Offer

[edit]

Before anyone starts working on anything related to the controversy "Offer", check-out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Free_offer_of_the_gospel#Offert, where I've included information regarding the historical use of the term.

tooMuchData

Allegations of Deicide, misogyny

[edit]

Whilst the citations are accurate, the charge of Deicide, for a theologian who believed in two natures is clumsy and inaccurate. If we were to tag all pre-18th century figures as misogynists for quoting Timothy, then there's a lot of revision to be done in wiki, and much of it both WP:UNDUE and tediously unencyclopaedic. I have reverted these edits. Cpsoper (talk) 10:15, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Age

[edit]

Question: Which of the above is truly correct, was he 18 or 19 years of age (or are these unstated guestimations placed here as is as much "fact" as can be provided on a publically edited website)? When did he make his public profession of faith? The math in the above story problem (if you will) does not total correctly.

− − Does any one know from church history or an other valid source what the true answer is to what his age was at his personal profession of faith? And if so would you please take the time to properly post it true?

− − − − I'd post a correction, if I knew the correct age/number to post, but I do not; therefore I can only pose this set of questions. I could alter the sentence to say "about", but then that is only laziness. The web has umpteen million "professional know it alls"; but I won't repost one of their presumptuous "facts" when there has to be some one out there that knows that they are more than 50% right on/about this date or his age. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ToDdLy LoVeS JESUS (talkcontribs)

The article says he was about twelve seven years before his profession at 18. If you have a source with a more exact number let me know and I'll show you how to edit the article. --JFH (talk) 19:31, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
