Original spelling of surname

Can you be sure that the speeling was changed, and not for example that a clergyman wrote down what he heard (rather than what a ilerate family usually wrote) in entering his baptism in a parish register? Also, can you cite your source? If you do not know how to do this, put it at the end of the text, and I will correct the syntax. Peterkingiron (talk) 23:05, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
