Reverting re Justin Clemens
[edit]I reverted the text "Forbes suffered psychological depression and beamce depended on drugs such as cough surup, he collappsed and died in Melbourne of a heart attack, aged 47. Justin Clemens is his spiritual scucessor." ... ignoring the terrible spelling, we'd need a source for the depression remark; the dependency on cough medicine is well-known, but for such a stub of an article it really unbalances the whole thing at this point. As for Mr Clemens being Forbes's "spiritual scucessor" ... I think it's highly questionable, judging from a selection of his work. — Stumps 09:15, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
Possibly useful quote
[edit]Just found this, and thought I'd park it here in case it proves useful: "John Forbes, ruffian, dandy, poet and critic, once heard a couple of his (quite distinguished) poet friends denounce Murray. Later, in private, because he was a courteous man, Forbes said to them: "You're petty men and your names will be forgotten." (Peter Craven, 'Nobler in the mind' The Australian, June 3, 2006).
