[edit]Trying to work out what happened in the December 1910 general election - was Ellis running for re-election when he died? Leif Jones seems to have been elected without any controversy or delay which suggests he was already a candidate; I don't know what day Rushcliffe had its polling then or if it would have been possible to substitute another candidate at short notice. - He resigned about 23 November 1910 due to concerns over his health and it was agreed then that Leif Jones would stand as his successor in the election. He died about a week later on 1 December 1910. GhostInTheMachine (talk) 18:19, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
