Did you know?
[edit]Canadian cancer researchers have studied stem cells because their research budgets aren't large enough for the hi-volume, hi-cost work of molecular biology? (Or so says the G&M 25 Nov 2006...) Trekphiler 06:47, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
- That's the irony of science. Necessity is the mother of invention, not extravagence. Throwing money at a problem won't find the solution, if the money is not targetted in the right direction. It's why small, nimble pharmacuetical companies tend to develop break through drugs, while large pharma tend to only modify existing drugs. MRoberts <> 19:29, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Year of birth
[edit]The Meet the A-Team of stem-cell science article say "The 49-year-old grew up on a Mennonite farm in southern Manitoba, attended a one-room schoolhouse and set off to Winnipeg to become an X-ray technician." It was published in November of 2006. Which would mean he was born sometime between January and November of 1957 or in either November or December of 1956.
Recently User:207.188.64.236 changed his year of birth to 1954, without leaving a reference. I have reverted that change. Clerks. 13:21, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
