Nicholas Carew, who married Dynham's eldest sister Margaret cannot have been born as early as 1424, but was more than likely born around 1442. When Edward IV became King, and shortly after the Battle of Towton in 1461, Nicholas was made a royal ward and his lands were handed to Dynham's mother, Joan, for safe-keeping until he attained the age of 21. This is cited in R. Pearse Chope, "The Last of the Dynhams" (1923) David Bret, 10 October 2021.
