Picture

[edit]

The page needs a picture of John. The others have one. Don't leave our John he has feelings too :(.

Somebody edit this piece of shit POV article. You can see little praises of his skills everywhere. And I've never seen anyone of the underground metal scene give him credit for his skills.

I removed the gushing. Most underground metal fans hate SOAD (they fell off of me as well) and I've never seen him be credited for any use of blast beats elsewhere. I'm not a drummer but the statement placed about him being one of the few mainstreamm drummers using blast beats seems very misleading. Even some of the just as bad metalcore drummers use more complex drum patterns and rhythms than this guy. Markendust

Russian Maffia?

[edit]

I may be wrong but the line about him being secretly being in the Russian mafia seems like vandalism... maybe I'm wrong but can somebody check the sources, because I don't see reference to this anywhere else.

Foreboding facial expression?

[edit]

I don't think this is the correct word to be using. --TopGear 00:59, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bad(?) Intro

[edit]

I was reading the intro, and noticed the story right before the TOC:

When he was 3 years old, he asked his parents for a drumkit every birthday and Christmas until he was 7 and he got his first drumkit. He stayed up till 5 am playing and his dad just threw it away. He kept asking for another drumkit until he was 15 and he finally got another one.

This feels out of place and abrupt. Additionally, it sounds like it was written by an eight year-old, even though it's been there since the beginning of the article. I'm probably gonna get crucified for this one - I think it should be removed. If you feel that the story is still significant to the rest of the article, then a separate heading should be created, maybe titled "Childhood" or something, and the passage re-written. I don't like to dive in and make big changes, especially on fan stuff, so I'll give a week or so for any objections/comments.

Superman comic

[edit]

He bought the first comic featuring Superman for $317,200 recently which is the highest ever paid for a comic.

The comic thing just came up again, apparently he owns a store and was buying it for a client. It's well covered (and quotes him) in this more recent AP article: Superman's debut comic book issue sells for $1M. --72.25.133.242 (talk) 23:28, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Middle Name

[edit]

Is anybody certain that John's middle name is really "Ohannes"? Ohannes (Hovhanes) is just the Armenian version of the name "John" (like Johannes is German for John). If his father's name is Ohannes that is it is possible, since most Armenians have their father's first name as their middle name. It just seems strange to me that his name is "John [English] John [Armenian] Dolmayan." It is also possible that he doesn't even have a middle name, but that when he immigrated to the U.S. his father's name was written on his papers (if his father is named Ohannes).

Birthplace

[edit]

John Dolmayan was born in Beirut, Lebanon, NOT Yerevan, Armenia. Just because he is Armenian doesn't mean he is FROM Armenia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Preservedmoose (talkcontribs) 01:39, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

California Republican?

[edit]

Would adding the category "California Republicans" to the article work since there happens to be a few articles about his political views? Punkrockjournalist5432 (talk) 02:15, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
